SUNDAY SCHOOL
Youth Sunday School (grades 5 & up) is currently included, in a One Room Schoolhouse format, with the Children’s class.
During these changing times, our youth have joined the Sunday School Teachers in assisting younger children on their faith journeys. We meet together on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m., in the Sanctuary, where we join the congregation in the opening praise songs, then enjoy our Choir, followed by the Scripture readings. After that, we are dismissed to the classroom in the hallway, just outside the Sanctuary. There are age-appropriate activities for all, and an opportunity for the older kids to mentor the children. Youth are also welcome to stay with their parents/guardians during the Worship Service.
We believe that learning about God and growing in our Christian faith is a life-long process, beginning with the teaching of Bible stories and moving to deeper study of Scripture throughout our spiritual and physical lives. As children, we view the world through innocent eyes, living our faith in naiveté, but as we mature we search for meaning in life, often in a spiritual way. Are you searching for answers to the questions “what does the Bible say and how does it relate to my life?” Then come join us in Sunday School as we explore how God wants us to grow in our faith and live our lives in relation to Him and to each other.
All of our staff and volunteers are trained in the United Methodist Safe Sanctuary Policy to ensure the safety of your children and youth.
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
This is a free program for youth in the Mifflinburg Area School District, Grades 6 and up.
Our After School Program is open during the school year, on Mondays and Tuesdays, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., when school is in session. If the schools are closed for holidays, in-service days, or inclement weather, we are not open.
Crafts and cooking programs are a favorite at the After School Program. We have painted rocks, made bird feeders, braided friendship bracelets, tied knotted pet blankets, and learned cooking skills: how to make quiche, pizza, and more. We also learned how to decorate cupcakes with icing.
FAMILY LIFE CENTER GYM
Our gym is an awesome facility, featuring full-size basketball courts, volleyball nets and wide open spaces to kick a soccer ball or throw football. This is where all the action happens at the After School Program! Our youth enjoy basketball, volleyball, badminton, cornhole, and more.
TEEN ROOM
Our Teen Room offers video games, board games, ping pong, bumper pool, Foosball and air hockey. Our leather couches offer a great place to just hang out with friends. A light meal is available at the After School Program, as well as a nice assortment of snacks, fresh fruit, and drinks.
